What are the digests?

Four digests published by the Administrative Hearings Office summarize hundreds of important cases decided by the Insurance Commissioner and appellate courts. The summaries are organized by topic, and each digest relates to a specific subject area:

• Automobile policy terminations (Acts 68 and 78) 
• Homeowners policy terminations (Act 205) 
• Insurance agency terminations (Act 143) 
• Practice and procedure in the Administrative Hearings Office 

Why subscribe?

No other publisher or reporting service compiles Insurance Commissioner decisions, and the digests are a valuable resource for use in connection with administrative hearings or in answering questions about insurance laws and regulations.  Each main volume of the digest contains the text of the applicable statute, describes the status or disposition of appeals from decisions since 1997 and includes a table of cases.  In addition to the main volume, subscribers receive quarterly updates which digest newly-decided cases and report any status change for cases on appeal.

How are they available?

Digests are available via e-mail in Microsoft Word®. In each electronic Word digest, the table of contents contains hypertext links to the topics. The electronic format also allows users to use software features such as formatting, cutting-and-pasting, searching and indexing, and allows users to copy and distribute a digest electronically.
