2017 ACA Rate Filings Hearing

On July 27, 2016, the Insurance Department held a public informational hearing on the proposed rates requested by insurers for 2017 individual health insurance plans available in Pennsylvania through the federal marketplace. 

The hearing was held to give companies an opportunity to explain their requests, to give Insurance Department staff an opportunity to outline our review process, and to allow consumers to voice how these rate increases may affect them. Representatives from Highmark, UPMC Health Plan, Geisinger Health Plan, Aetna, Independence Blue Cross, and Capital Blue Cross were in attendence.
